For over two glorious decades, we have crafted an unparalleled legacy, etching our name in the annals of pest-busting history. But, Did you know where the word Gumtree originated?
It actually stands for “eucalyptus” in Australia, which made us apply it for our attractive yet natural dimension. And That’s how we started our journey to this beautiful place.
We started as a small factory in the bustling city of Mumbai in 2011 with the creation of ingenious cockroach traps. Little did we know that this humble beginning would set in motion a chain of events that would propel us to the vertex of pest control products.
The year 2014 marked a turning point for Gumtree. Armed with an unyielding ambition, we imported cutting-edge machinery to manufacture rodent control boards, the crown jewel of our product range. The industry was left awe-struck as our ingenious traps became the talk of the town, capturing the hearts of pest-weary customers far and wide.
But Gumtree's appetite for innovation knew no bounds. In a bold move that defied convention, we ventured into the realm of fly ribbons in 2014, importing state-of-the-art machines to meet the soaring demand. As if driven by an insatiable hunger for growth, we set our sights on expansion and acquired a coveted industrial plot in the illustrious Pilerne Industrial Estate in Goa in 2015.
With unwavering determination, we laid the foundation for our dream project- a grand factory building at Pilerne, serving as the birthplace of our own trap-making revolution. The symphony of progress echoed through the halls as skilled hands and cutting-edge technology merged, culminating in the completion of our masterpiece by the end of 2019. A new era had dawned, and Gumtree stood tall as a symbol of the unrelenting pursuit of excellence.
Yet, Gumtree's ascent wasn't solely measured by bricks and mortar. We embarked on a transformative journey, achieving prestigious certification for our processes through the Integrated Management System (IMS). This esteemed recognition validated our commitment to delivering unrivalled quality, prioritising environmental sustainability, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our invaluable workforce.
Driven by an unquenchable thirst for progress, Gumtree adopted innovation with open arms. Between 2014 and 2022, we harnessed the power of cutting-edge equipment, infusing a production line with an array of trap-making marvels. From the irresistible grip of rat glue traps to the captivating allure of fly traps, we left no stone unturned. But we didn't stop here – getting automation into power we turned into evolving into wonders that churned out large quantities in record time, catering to high-volume orders with unrivalled speed.
Today, Gumtree's illustrious product range stands as a testament to its unwavering mission - to conquer pests that threaten the sanctity of homes, businesses, gardens, and farms. Nestled within the hallowed walls of our awe-inspiring Pilerne factory, we manufacture an impressive array of traps, spanning the domains of rodents, flies, cockroaches, and agricultural pests.
As time marched on, Gumtree's trap production soared to unprecedented heights. From a modest output of 14 million traps in 2016-17, we thus crossed expectations, hitting a milestone of 80 million traps produced by 2022-23. With each trap that rolled off our production line, Gumtree unleashed a powerful message to pests far and wide - their reign of terror was over!
